Ivanhoe Girls’ Grammar School
IVANHOE, AUSTRALIA
ARCHITECT: DARYL SANDERS JACKSON AO
A key design goal for this renovation project was improving the learning environment, which architects hoped to accomplish in part by increasing the natural daylight in the building, and making it overall more sustainable. Situated in a residential area, the school also had to comply with regulations protecting its historic nature. Designers opted to glaze the central atrium skylights with SageGlass, which not only kept the building compliant with the regulations, but increased its daylighting and sustainability. SageGlass is part of the school’s comprehensive green building strategy that incorporates passive heating and cooling, and water conservation.
